Overview

Sales Manager – Manchester Deansgate Hotel – Manchester. Join IHG Hotels & Resorts and lead a dynamic sales team at the iconic Beetham Tower.

Responsibilities
  • Support the proactive sales strategy and actively participate in sales activity.
  • Co‑operate with the Director of Sales to coach the team, delivering training sessions and stakeholder presentations.
  • Drive new direct business, build a strong sales pipeline, manage assigned segments and meet budgeted sales targets.
  • Generate new business leads through social media, networking and market research; support renegotiation of existing agreements.
  • Track and report sales activity against targets, KPIs and objectives; highlight risks and opportunities to the Director of Sales.
  • Collaborate within the Sales team and across the Hotel to support board sales packs, monthly commercial reviews and other reporting requirements.
  • Continuously improve sales processes, streamline efficiency and maintain regular communication with IHG‑aligned teams to ensure alignment with overall strategy.
Qualifications
  • Availability Monday to Friday; additional evening and weekend hours may be required.
  • Some travel to attend roadshows, corporate events and client visits.
  • Proven experience as a Sales Manager or Senior Sales Executive; experience supervising, coaching or mentoring team members within a busy sales team in a branded hotel or hospitality environment preferred.
  • Strong track record of achieving sales targets; experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of local and UK markets; Corporate and MICE experience highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute sales activity effectively, contributing to sales strategies while supporting day‑to‑day team performance.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, prioritise workloads and consistently maintain high standards and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Opera / Cvent / Delphi is a bonus.
