Overview

Role: Sales Estimator — Location: Cardiff — Salary: £40,000 — Shift: Monday to Friday (40 hours), 7:30am to 4:00pm. This is a permanent, office-based role with a respected independent specialist in industrial door systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing project drawings, specifications, and other documents to understand project scope.
• Help gather and organise pricing information for materials, labour, and plant.
• Support the preparation of detailed cost estimates.
• Assist in maintaining relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing.
• Help maintain accurate records of estimates, proposals, and project documentation.
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other departments as needed.
• Learn and apply estimating best practices and company procedures.
• Perform basic calculations and quantity take-offs under supervision.
• Assist in the use of estimating software and databases.
• Shadow experienced estimators during site visits and pre-bid meetings.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of the construction industry, including processes, materials and methods.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word).
• Good communication skills.
