Sales Manager / Senior Sales Engineer – Packaging Machinery

UK – Field Based

I’m working in partnership with a well-established and highly respected packaging machinery manufacturer/integrator that is continuing to invest in growth across the UK market. As part of this expansion, they are looking to appoint an experienced packaging machinery sales professional with a proven track record in capital equipment sales.

This is a senior, consultative sales role, suited to someone who understands complex machinery sales cycles, technical solution selling, and long-term customer relationships.

The Role
  • Selling packaging machinery and automated solutions into food, FMCG, pharmaceutical, industrial, or related manufacturing sectors
  • Managing the full sales lifecycle: prospecting, technical consultation, proposal, negotiation, and close
  • Developing new business while growing existing key accounts
  • Working closely with engineering, applications, and project teams to deliver tailored solutions
  • Attending customer sites, exhibitions, and industry events
  • Providing accurate forecasting and pipeline reporting
What We’re Looking For
  • Demonstrable experience selling packaging machinery or capital equipment
  • Background in horizontal or vertical packaging, end-of-line, robotics, automation, or related systems
  • Strong technical sales capability – able to sell value, not just price
  • Proven ability to manage long sales cycles and high-value projects
  • Commercially astute, self-motivated, and credible at all levels of a customer organisation
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a field-based role
Desirable (but not essential)
  • Experience selling into food, beverage, pharma, or FMCG manufacturing
  • Knowledge of automation, robotics, or integrated packaging lines
  • Existing industry network
