Sales Engineer

40-45 + bonus, OTE

Sales Engineer with experience selling into plant equipment construction or civils required for a growing manufacturer of prefab and portable housings in West Yorkshire.

You will be responsible for developing new business through the full sales lifecycle, from initial enquiry and site visit through to quotation, negotiation, and project handover.

The role
  • Research and develop a confident understanding of your target and competitor market and develop an effective sales strategy
  • Undertake a range of sales activities to generate appointments and enquiries with new, existing and lapsed clients
  • Visit customers to understand their requirement and provide a suitable solution and build long term relationships
  • Produce and follow up competitive quotations
  • To develop a full sales strategy
  • Lead generation for new business and follow through
  • Identify customers' needs and requirements
  • Plan and attend calls, meetings, events, exhibitions, presentations & demonstrations
  • Ensure you are kept up to date with the products and the market you are working in
  • Report and feedback results to management
  • Maintain, update and quantify client database
The person
  • A proven sales background, preferably in construction, civils projects, plant equipment, portable housing or similar
  • Engineering or construction knowledge with the ability to read and interpret drawings
  • Excellent experience of researching and developing new leads, targets markets and business
  • Be familiar with the full sales cycle and have a proven background in building new business and managing existing customers
  • Be happy to travel on a regular basis
  • Excellent door opening, negotiation and persuasive skills with the ability to manage pipeline and close sales effectively
  • Professional, target driven and has the desire to succeed
  • Full driving license essential
