What You’ll Do

As a Safety Apprentice, you’ll gain first‑hand experience identifying risks, improving processes, and supporting a culture of safety while working alongside experienced safety professionals. You’ll be based on‑site, seeing how people and equipment interact and spotting potential hazards before they occur.

A Day in the Life
  • Carry out daily safety inspections and support risk assessments
  • Observe workplace activities to identify potential hazards or unsafe practices
  • Collect, analyse, and report safety data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Support incident investigations and contribute to corrective or preventive action plans
  • Assist with safety briefings, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns
  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure safety procedures are followed
  • Help review and maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Monitor implementation of safety improvements and record progress
  • Use digital tools and software to manage safety audits, reports, and training records
  • Participate in projects to enhance safety culture, sustainability, and wellbeing on site
  • Continuously learn from mentors and apply new knowledge to keep people safe every day
Basic Qualifications
  • UK national, or non‑UK national with the right to work in the UK, or EU national with settled status; must have lived in the UK/EEA or British overseas territory for 3 years or more prior to commencing the apprenticeship (September 2026)
  • Resident of the UK for the entire duration of the program
  • Not registered to study on a UK government‑funded course ending August 2026 or later
  • 18 years old or older before entering an Amazon building (September 2026)
  • Right to live and work in England; if on a visa, must enable legal work/residence for the duration of the programme until May 2028
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above (including Maths and English); if qualifications gained outside the UK, provide a Statement of Comparability from UK ENIC
  • Must not be on another Department for Education‑funded training program; cannot hold a qualification at the same or higher level in a similar subject area
  • This position is a 20‑month fixed‑term contract
  • Assumes candidate has little or no knowledge/experience of the occupation
