We are seeking an experienced Duty Manager to lead the operational delivery of night-time safety and security services across our Penryn and Falmouth Campuses. The position requires a motivational and inspiring manager who will be able to support the ongoing development of a modern campus safety and security service. As Duty Manager you will be the cohesive link between operational teams and senior management and will lead in the development and reinforcement of a connected and collaborative team culture. You will be responsible for managing daily operations, ensuring employee productivity, monitoring efficiency of all processes, and creating a positive work environment. Within the Campus Safety and Support Team all staff must be able to provide pastoral care by identifying and resolving student issues with empathy and sensitivity. You will have a genuine compassion towards the mental health challenges facing young people and be committed to providing a positive student experience.
We are looking for candidates who have a strong background in managing staff in an operational environment. You will have strong people management skills, with the ability to motivate and lead employees, effective communication skills and the ability to apply confidentiality and tact to situations, being diplomatic and sensitive to the needs of others. The ideal candidate would have the following skills/experience:
A background in security is not essential as a full training package will be provided to ensure you have the knowledge and skills to work in this unique environment. Due to the nature of the role, you will also be required to undergo a standard Disclosure & Barring Service Check. The hours for this position are 42.46 hours per week on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, 12 hours per shift working 19:30 to 07:30.
