Job summary

A community sports organization in the United Kingdom seeks a Safeguarding Manager to champion safeguarding initiatives across the Foundation. This role requires compliance with safeguarding regulations, acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, and collaborating with staff and volunteers. Role Summary

The Safeguarding Manager will champion safeguarding across the Foundation and The Nest, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for participants and staff. Objectives:

  • Ensure compliance with statutory safeguarding regulations and legislations.
  • Conduct your duties as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), providing expert advice and decision-making support to staff and volunteers. Currently (or previously) in a senior safeguarding role.
  • Understanding of safeguarding processes and how to raise concerns with external agencies.
  • Formal Safeguarding training, relevant Level 4 Safeguarding qualifications (or equivalent experience).
  • Understanding of how to manage Welfare & Wellbeing Concerns raised by adults and young people.
  • Evidence working at a strategic safeguarding level with key stakeholders.
  • Experience in dealing with challenging situations involving parents, stakeholders, and external agencies sensitively and professionally, Experience with providing low level pastoral support for young people.
  • Experience in training and teaching new skills to learners at different levels to achieve a shared outcome and understanding.
  • Experience in prioritising a potentially emotive workload to ensure the best outcomes.
