A legal firm is seeking a Risk & Compliance Lawyer on a 12-month FTC basis in London. The role involves providing legal risk and compliance advice, reviewing complex queries, and drafting terms of engagement. Candidates should be UK Qualified Lawyers with experience in legal compliance, risk management, and a strong knowledge of SRA Rules. This position offers a competitive salary up to £95,000 and hybrid working in London.

Qualifications

  • Must be a UK Qualified Lawyer.
  • Experience in Legal Compliance, Risk Management or Regulatory Law.
  • Strong knowledge of SRA Rules and Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal risk and compliance advice across the firm.
  • Advise on the SRA Code of Conduct, ethics, data protection and regulatory obligations.
  • Review conflicts reports and resolve complex cross-border queries.
  • Draft, review and update terms of engagement with clients and third parties.
  • Support on supplier contracts and compliance with global regulations.
  • Monitor regulatory change and assess firm-wide impact.
  • Develop and maintain compliance policies, systems and training.

The Role

You’ll provide legal risk and compliance advice across the firm, working closely with the Head of Risk, COLP and senior partners.

  • Advising on the SRA Code of Conduct, ethics, data protection and regulatory obligations
  • Reviewing conflicts reports and resolving complex cross-border queries
  • Drafting, reviewing and updating terms of engagement with clients and third parties
  • Supporting on supplier contracts and compliance with global regulations
  • Monitoring regulatory change and assessing firm-wide impact
  • Developing and maintaining compliance policies, systems and training
About you
  • UK Qualified Lawyer
  • Experience in Legal Compliance, Risk Management or Regulatory Law
  • Strong knowledge of SRA Rules and Code of Conduct
  • Exposure across data protection, AML, Sanctions, Bribery & Corruption, Modern Slavery and more
  • International law firm experience is essential
