Job summary

A leading offshore drilling company seeks a Maintenance Department Head in the United Kingdom. The role involves overseeing maintenance on shipboard equipment, ensuring safety compliance, and managing maintenance logs. Candidates should have at least five years in maintenance and two years in a leadership role, preferably with offshore experience. Responsibilities
  • Attends and participates in all safety meetings.
  • Ensures all mechanical‑related equipment and systems operate safely.
  • Oversees preventive and corrective maintenance on all shipboard equipment, including Hull and Marine equipment.
  • Oversees power generation/distribution and propulsion/auxiliaries, air compressor systems, engineering auxiliary systems (I.E. Sewage, OWS, Pot water, etc.).
  • Oversees drilling and safety equipment, control system equipment (DP, IAS, and drilling system controls).
  • Oversees communication and entertainment equipment.
  • Manages and maintains a written log of maintenance performed.
  • Works closely with vendor technical service representatives to better understand equipment function.
  • Assists with training MODU personnel when required.
  • Participates and assists in all critical operations such as MODU movement and fast rescue boat deployment.
  • Eliminates all maintenance hazards as they are identified.
  • Responsible for safety and that of the crew.
Qualifications / Experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years in a Maintenance position and at least two (2) or more years as department head in an engineering, electrical/electronic, mechanical, or subsea role with prior offshore experience.
