Responsibilities
  • Delivery of the strategy for all market segments to maximise the sales and revenue of the hotel, ensuring that all revenue opportunities are capitalised.
  • Oversee the yield management of function space and bedroom inventory to maximise sales, revenue and profitability.
  • Manage the on‑site sales and events office team, ensuring they understand departmental budgets/targets and consistently meet or exceed client expectations in service, planning and support.
  • Constantly review productivity during the pre‑ and post‑sales cycle and deliver effective processes to ensure enquiry handling, event planning and payment completion are achieved to a high standard.
  • Daily, weekly and monthly reporting to ensure targets and standards are met and to provide business information on demand, lead times and enquiry conversion for forecasting.
  • Timely processing of ledgers and invoices, liaising with finance to ensure credit checks are completed and accounts settled as required.
  • Data entry for both events and reservations, ensuring data integrity and accuracy for reporting requirements.
  • Work closely with colleagues in operations to ensure all aspects of events are arranged to suit both client and hotel.
  • Identify and pass on leads and information on new companies, agents and suppliers to the Sales Manager/Director of Sales, assisting when required at the point of negotiations.
  • Support research and targeting of business in local/national areas and monitor competitor hotels.
  • Assist with familiarisation tours, visits and functions, hosting tables when appropriate.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in sales management, preferably in the hospitality or related industry.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a sales team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively.
  • Strong commercial outlook, being both sales and revenue driven, with up-to‑date insight on industry needs and trends within B2B and B2C markets.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as required by business needs.
