A leading environmental services company is seeking a dedicated shop operative to manage the daily operations of a re-use shop. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the environment, possess prior retail experience, and be committed to excellent customer service. This role involves merchandising, cash handling, and working as part of a close-knit team at a Household Waste Recycling Centre in Oldham.

Qualifications

• Passion for the environment and the re-use project.
• Ability to handle financial aspects of retail.
• Flexible attitude to work including shifts and weekends.
• Confidence to work alone until volunteers are recruited.
• Valid Driving Licence for occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the re-use shop.
• Merchandise stock, prepare, price and present donations.
• Operate the cash register and handle transactions.
• Ensure goods are sold appropriately and manage rejected items.
• Arrange efficient collections and deliveries.
• Maintain security of shop premises, stock and cash.
• Promote the shop's values and ensure excellent customer experience.
