Role : Retail Manager

Salary : 50k + Bonus

Avellio is currently partnering exclusively with a well-established business in the food retail, hospitality and farming sector, we are now recruiting on their behalf for an experienced Retail Manager to join the organisation.

We are looking for a highly passionate, organised Retail Manager to lead the operations of a large, destination-style farm shop renowned for its fresh food counters, artisan produce, and exceptional customer experience. This role suits someone who has previous experience as a retail leader and thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys developing people, and is committed to championing local food and high-quality retail standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day operations across butchery, bakery, deli, produce, and general retail.
  • Lead, train, and motivate a high-performing team.
  • Ensure excellent product presentation, stock control, and merchandising.
  • Drive sales, monitor performance, and implement commercial initiatives.
  • Uphold high standards of food safety, hygiene, and store compliance.
  • Support seasonal events, promotions, and customer engagement activities.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Strong retail management experience, ideally within fresh food, farm shop, hospitality retail, or a similar customer-focused environment.
  • Experience managing specialist counters (butchery, bakery, deli, or fresh food) is highly advantageous.
  • Proven leadership, coaching, and people-management skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to translate insight into action.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work flexibly to support a seven-day operation, including weekends and peak seasons.
