Job summary

A dedicated children's support service in Tiverton seeks a caring and dynamic individual to supervise shifts and support children in achieving personal goals. Responsibilities include creating a positive atmosphere and assisting with daily tasks. A full UK driving licence is essential for this rewarding role. Training will be provided for those lacking practical skills. Starting pay is £15.82 per hour, with rates increasing based on experience and responsibilities.

Our Children’s Homes are registered with Ofsted and provide support for children and young people with complex needs, ensuring their line individual care plans and needs are met. The ethos of the service is to provide children with a home-from-home experience and enhance and promote their life experiences and independence. You’ll also be helping them to prepare for the next stage of their life.

Responsibilities
  • Supervising the running of shifts within the Home.
  • Provide supervision for staff.
  • Supporting children and young people achieve their personal wishes and goals.
  • Assisting with daily tasks and life skills.
  • Striving for aspirational outcomes for the children.
  • Creating fun and positive atmosphere.
  • Organising and taking part in activities.
  • Being proactive and innovative to seek new methods to engage.

If you have the above qualities but may not have all the practical skills yet, we will support you through training and development in line with your personal development plan and actively promote succession planning.

Pay and enhancements
  • Starting rate is £15.82 per hour, rising to £17.47 per hour.
  • Overnight rate is £21.09 per hour, rising to £23.29 per hour.
  • Saturday rate is £23.73 per hour, rising to £26.20 per hour.
  • Sunday and bank holiday rate is £31.64 per hour, rising to £34.94 per hour.

We work on a 3 shift per 24 hours basis (AM/PM/Nights or sleep ins) and our homes are open up to 365 days a year.

Requirements and arrangements
  • The ability to drive with access to your own vehicle, a valid UK driving licence and business insurance is essential to the role.
  • We cannot offer Visa sponsorship for this post or consider applications from individuals with less than two years left on existing visas as we require consistency to meet the needs of the service.
  • All staff must hold a full driving licence.
