We’re looking for a Senior Conveyancer / Team Leader

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Residential Conveyancer to lead and develop a growing Conveyancing team within a highly regarded regional law firm based in Leicester.

This is a hands‑on, client‑facing role where you’ll manage your own caseload while mentoring junior staff and helping shape the team’s continued growth and success. The ideal candidate will be confident, commercially minded, and capable of managing a busy caseload with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise a small team of conveyancers and support staff, ensuring service quality and compliance.
  • Handle a varied caseload of freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, including new builds.
  • Re‑mortgages and transfers of equity.
  • Shared ownership and equity release matters.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, introducers, and referrers.
  • Oversee case progression to completion while ensuring all work meets regulatory and firm standards.
  • Contribute to business development and departmental growth through client networking and relationship management.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experienced Conveyancer, Licensed Conveyancer, Legal Executive, or Solicitor with proven expertise in residential property.
  • Strong leadership skills and previous experience managing a small team.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of residential conveyancing processes and compliance.
  • Confident communicator with excellent client service skills.
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable working under minimal supervision.

Desirable

  • Previous experience using modern case management systems.
  • Established professional network or referrer relationships within the Leicester or wider East Midlands area.
  • Demonstrable experience of driving business development or team growth.

Culture

The firm offers a supportive, down‑toearth culture that values collaboration, work–life balance, and professional growth. With a strong local reputation and roots spanning over 200 years, they have built lasting relationships across their communities and are recognised for their excellence in client care.

Many of their teams are Legal 500‑recognised, and they were recently named Large Law Firm of the Year 2025 by their regional Law Society.

Hybrid Working

While predominantly office‑based, hybrid working requests are reviewed individually. The firm follows an “in more than not” approach, with full office‑based working expected during the six‑month probation period.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary (commensurate with experience)
  • 26 days’ holiday (including 3 over Christmas closure)
  • Holiday increases in years 3 & 5 (up to 28 days)
  • Life assurance (3× salary)
  • BUPA healthcare cover
  • 1 paid volunteering day per year
  • Pension with matched contributions up to 4%
  • Annual Staff Recognition Awards
  • Enhanced packages available for senior roles
