A prominent educational institution in Leeds is looking for a motivated individual to provide research grant management support. The role includes liaising with funders, maintaining financial records, and working within a flexible, agile environment. Ideal candidates should have strong organisational and communication skills. The position offers 26 days holiday, a generous pension scheme, and access to health and wellbeing facilities.
This role will be based on the university campus with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
As a highly motivated, proactive individual you will be responsible for providing research grant management support to academics. You will be part of the central Research Operations Team, but will be deployed across Faculty Research Offices (FROs); to work in an agile and flexible manner, to respond to peaks in workload or staff shortages, and occasionally working with the central team to develop new systems and processes.
Across the 7 FROs the team deal with a very large volume of research grant applications and awards. You will work closely with existing FRO and central teams to cost and price projects, liase with funders, set up and maintain financial records and produce claims and invoices.
You will need to show a high level of attention to detail and have the ability to organise, prioritise and work to tight deadlines. You will have a high level of interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and to be able to work on our own initiative, flexibly, proactively in a busy environment. We also require good problem solving skills to work through complex issues, and a positive attitude to change.
A full training programme will be provided to develop your skills prior to your first deployment and a mentor will be assigned to help build understanding of the Universities systems and processes and Funder requirements.
Please note that due to Home Office visa requirements, this role is not suitable for first-time Skilled Worker visa applicants. Information on other visa options is available at: https://www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration/work-visas
