Research Manager / Associate Director (Quantitative)

2. The Role
We are seeking a seasoned quantitative specialist at the Senior Research Manager or junior Associate Director level. This role is specifically designed for a researcher with a deep‑stated passion for gaming and gambling, as you will lead these accounts in collaboration with our Head of Gaming.
This is an end‑to‑end research role. We are looking for a consultant who can navigate the entire project lifecycle—from complex proposal writing and methodology design to high‑level strategic debriefing.

3. Main Tasks & Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Client Management
- Serve as a primary project lead and strategic advisor for key accounts in the gaming and gambling sectors.
- Maintain and grow strong, trusted relationships with clients, answering questions before they are asked and identifying nuances in their business challenges.
- Ensure all client deliverables communicate a clear, consistent, and impactful narrative with commercially relevant recommendations.
- Serve as the strategic bridge between complex data and actionable business insights.
End-to-End Project Delivery
- Act as the day‑to‑day project lead, working with junior members of the team, with limited involvement from senior team members for less complex projects.
- Lead the design of quantitative research materials, including questionnaires, stimulus, and table specifications.
- Oversee fieldwork and project timelines, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to MTM’s high quality standards.
- Conduct expert interviews/stakeholder interviews to provide strategic context to underpin quantitative research insights.
- Present debriefs and facilitate workshops with senior client stakeholders.
Commercial & Team Leadership
- Draft and present high‑quality quantitative research proposals and prepare accurate project costs.
- Take responsibility for project profitability, including pipeline management and budget phasing.
- Mentor and coach junior team members, providing constructive feedback and hands‑on coaching to ensure high standards are met.
4. Ideal Candidate Profile
Required Experience & Skills
- Agency Background: 5+ years of experience working within a primary research agency managing quantitative projects.
- Sector Passion: A demonstrable interest and/or professional experience in gaming and gambling is essential.
- Technical Excellence: Proficiency in data analysis software such as Q or SPSS, alongside advanced skills in Excel, Google Sheets, and PowerPoint.
- Methodological Depth: Hands‑on experience with advanced data analysis methods, such as segmentation, conjoint, or regression analysis.
- Compliance: A strong understanding of the MRS Code of Conduct and GDPR.
