Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to build a career in the glass industry, working in a semi‑production environment within a cutting‑edge research and development setting. You'll gain hands‑on experience with advanced manufacturing processes while developing the skills, knowledge, and behaviours needed to excel in engineering manufacturing. As part of our Process & Logistics team, you will:

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a range of prototype manufacturing equipment, including pre-process lines, printing, bending furnaces, lamination, and final inspection systems.
  • Set up and run process equipment alongside R&D technologists to support new product and new process development projects.
  • Assist in product development and testing of glazing products for suppliers, partners, and internal business units in the Automotive and Architectural sectors.
  • Contribute to technical support work, process improvements, and quality assurance activities.

Apprenticeship Pathway
  • You will be enrolled in a Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing Technician apprenticeship starting September 2026.
  • You will achieve an HNC in Manufacturing Engineering during your training.
  • You will develop an in‑depth understanding of key processes and testing methods.
  • You will learn to identify deviations, troubleshoot issues, and implement process improvements.

A‑Level/BTEC qualifications in Maths, Physics or Engineering.

  • 5 GCSE passes including Maths, English and Science.
  • A genuine, hands‑on interest in manufacturing and production processes.
  • Commitment to continuous learning during and beyond the apprenticeship.
  • Strong attention to detail and a safety‑first mindset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a technical team environment.

  • Actively seeks to understand internal and external customer circumstances, problems, expectations and needs.
  • Holds a driving license (or is working towards one) and/or can reliably travel to our site (L40 5UF).
