A prestigious university in Cambridge is seeking a Research Assistant/Associate to work on modelling greenhouse-gas fluxes as part of the Centre for Landscape Regeneration. The role involves developing modelling tools, conducting research on high-performance computing, and collaborating with a team on interdisciplinary projects. A PhD or equivalent experience is required, along with a strong background in simulation modelling.
Research Assistant / Research Associate in Modelling Greenhouse-Gas Fluxes at Landscape Scales (Fixed Term) – University of Cambridge

Contract: Fixed Term • Full-time • Salary: £33,002-£46,049 per year
The post is part of the flagship Centre for Landscape Regeneration (CLR). The CLR aims to regenerate the British countryside using cost-effective nature-based solutions, harnessing ecosystems to benefit biodiversity, climate mitigation and adaptation. The successful candidate will work with Prof. Andrew Friend and the wider CLR team and may participate in CLR, departmental, and University activities, including seminars and teaching.
Salary Ranges: Research Associate: £37,694-£46,049 (Grade 7). Appointment at Research Associate level requires a PhD. Those who have submitted but have not yet received their PhD may be appointed as a Research Assistant (Grade 5, Point 38 - £34,610) and will move to Research Associate upon PhD award.
Fixed-term: Funds available until 31 January 2027 (in the first instance).
