Job description
Overview

The Environmental team at Labcorp is seeking to fill a role at our Shardlow site, Derbyshire. The successful candidate will conduct the actual physical manipulations required to analyse aquatic samples using a range of analytical techniques. A good working knowledge of some or all of the following techniques is preferred: LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, HPLC-uv, GC-FID and ICP-MS.

Responsibilities
  • Analyse samples and process data for assigned studies
  • Perform method validation
  • Perform basic method development
  • Interpret data to ensure acceptance criteria are achieved and anomalous results are identified
  • Produce data summaries. Perform QC checking of analytical data. Diversify knowledge of analytical instrumentation with guidance from senior personnel
  • Increase theoretical knowledge of analytical techniques by using CHROMacademy
  • Proactively manage consumable stock levels
  • Clean and maintain allocated work areas and equipment in line with departmental procedures
  • Accept responsibility for the condition and maintenance of allocated equipment
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Recent graduates or those with some experience in chemistry laboratories will be considered
  • An understanding of health and safety policies, company policies and procedures, and a strong understanding of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
  • Strong instrumentation knowledge: HPLC, GC, GC-MS, LC-MS/MS
  • Familiarity with the workings of an analytical chemistry laboratory
