Qualifications

Department: Renal: Haemodialysis Unit, St Luke's Hospital, Bradford

Hours: 37.5

You will be paid Trainee Rate (75% of the top of band 3 - £19,948 per annum) until you have completed the relevant renal modules

Bradford Renal Services: Bradford is a rapidly developing Multicultural City located on the M62 corridor giving easy access to all areas of the North. The city of Bradford is in a stage of rejuvenation and allows easy access to the major cities of both Leeds and Manchester, as well as being a stone's throw from the Yorkshire Dales.

Main duties of the job

Our 47 bedded chronic haemodialysis unit is located at St Luke's Hospital and we are focused on delivering renal replacement therapy to a diverse, multicultural group of patients from the City of Bradford & surrounding towns. We are part of Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and so have the advantage of a large multidisciplinary team to liaise with, whilst maintaining our own individual identity.

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a candidate with a Level 3 Qualification, wishing to commence/ progress and/or extend their experience in healthcare and gain knowledge & skills required to care for patients undergoing Haemodialysis.

This post will offer a Health Care Worker joining this specialist area of practice an excellent learning opportunity. You will join a large, friendly, multidisciplinary team committed to ensuring that best evidence based practice influences the care delivered to the patients. The long term nature of the condition enables the team to build professional relationships with the patient group, without impacting on the Professional Code. The successful candidate will be expected to complete a comprehensive training/ teaching package during their initial 6 months to enable them to carry out the role of a Renal Support Worker.

Experience
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Experience in a Renal Unit as a Renal Support Worker or equivalent/willingness to participate with In House training package as a trainee**
  • Experience of working in the NHS or Hospital environment
  • Experience, knowledge and awareness of patient care need, e.g. patient monitoring
  • Experience of dealing with members of the public
