Job Title: Remote HR Compliance & Workforce Affairs (100% Work From Home)

Location: Remote from Latin America

Position Type: Full-time

Salary: $11-17 USD/hour (~$1,760 - $2,720 assuming 160 hrs. per month) depending on experience via Rippling payroll system

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:45am - 5:15pm Pacific Time

We are seeking a capable and proactive Human Resources team member for our client. This role requires mid-level expertise and a high level of discernment, combining administrative accuracy with fluency in HR processes. This position performs routine administrative work, provides research-informed support, and ensures procedural integrity, contributing to the effectiveness of the University’s executive tier. Success in this role depends on the ability to navigate nuanced situations, anticipate needs, and execute regulatory responsibilities reliably.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform compliance research and maintain associated documentation.
  • Compile, review, and report on weekly, monthly, and annual HR and fiscal data, ensuring accuracy and stakeholder clarity.
  • Maintain and improve internal HR processes and documentation.
  • Manage Human Resources and Fiscal data and documents, including sensitive employee records and financial data.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality standards by following procedures and maintaining consistent awareness of the potential impact of various activities and interactions.
  • Administer recruitment, onboarding, and termination processes with accuracy and discretion.
  • Review time sheets, process adjustments, and report on remote work activity data.
  • Process out-of-office requests and manage calendars.
  • Process employee expenses.
  • Assist with AR/AP invoicing and provide light support to the Fiscal Management team.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with staff and faculty.
  • Assess task priorities and manage daily workflow based on compliance, impact, and collaboration needs.

Qualifications, Skills, and Key Competencies:

Must-Haves:

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Significant experience in HR support or administration.
  • Research capabilities.
  • Data entry experience.
  • Administrative and/or customer support experience.
  • Comfortable making decisions and taking initiative without constant oversight.
  • Strong common sense and independent problem-solving ability.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Strong internet connection.

  • Exposure to Accounting Software or other accounting software.

Note from Client:

PTO: Not provided for contractors. Unpaid time off can be approved as needed. Paid Holidays: Contract workers receive eight paid holidays per calendar year. These holidays typically align with major U.S. public holidays, however, workers residing outside the United States may substitute up to five of these holidays with public or religious holidays observed in their country of residence. Due to university closures, New Year’s Day, American Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day are fixed paid holidays and may not be substituted. Unpaid Breaks: The university is closed the entire week of American Thanksgiving and for two weeks during Christmas and New Year’s. During these weeks, staff typically do not perform work. Those who do not work during the weeks the school is closed do not receive payment for the days they do not work.
