Location: Buttershaw / Hybrid Working (1-2 days in the office a week – Bradford)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Regulatory Technical Copywriter to join the Strategy & Regulation team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

As Yorkshire Water enters a transformative 2025–2030 asset management period, we’re preparing to publish a series of strategic and regulatory documents that will define our direction, priorities, and performance. These publications range from price review business plans to strategic environmental reports and annual performance updates are essential in communicating our vision to regulators, customers, and stakeholders.

We’re looking for a talented writer to craft clear, compelling, and accessible narratives that bring complex regulatory and technical content to life. Where you fit in

As our Regulatory Technical Copywriter, you will:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex regulatory and technical content into clear, accessible narratives.
  • Draft, edit, and proofread high-quality documents including business plans, strategic submissions, performance reports, and consultation responses.
  • Ensure consistency of messaging, formatting, and data presentation across all deliverables.
  • Create summaries of technical documents for non-specialist audiences, including customers and stakeholders.
  • Develop and apply best practice writing standards, templates, and style guides.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
  • Support continuous improvement through feedback, benchmarking, and coaching colleagues.
Skills and qualifications

What skills & qualifications you will need:

  • Proven experience in technical or regulatory copywriting, ideally within a regulated industry.
  • Exceptional written English skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with a talent for simplifying complex information.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams to gather insights and define documentation needs.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently under pressure.
  • Proactive and enthusiastic about contributing beyond core responsibilities.
Experience you will benefit from
