Senior Regulatory Governance & Pension Oversight Specialist

Location: Manchester (Hybrid - 3 days a week)

Type: Contract - Dayrate

A leading investment management firm is seeking an experienced Senior Specialist to join their Regulatory Governance & Pension Oversight team. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of internal control frameworks, lead cross-functional initiatives, and act as a subject matter expert across regulatory and pension-related governance.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, implementation, and enhancement of internal control frameworks across regulatory and pension functions.
  • Act as a key point of contact for pension oversight and governance-related matters, offering subject matter expertise across the business.
  • Design and implement efficient, data-led control and governance tools to enhance oversight capabilities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and outsourced partners to drive automation, efficiency, and robust operational controls.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of FCA, HMRC, and TPR regulations related to pensions and tax wrappers.
  • Lead risk event assessments, manage breach reporting, and ensure governance activities are documented to a high standard.
  • Provide insight, support, and training to internal teams and represent the function at internal and external forums.
Qualifications
  • SIPP and Pensions knowledge is a must
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within financial services, ideally in asset management or within a retail investment platform environment.
  • Solid understanding of UK pensions regulation, retail platform operations, and governance frameworks.
  • Previous exposure to internal controls, risk management, or audit functions.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing complex operational or governance-based projects.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office; data analysis and reporting experience a plus.
