The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a Registered Nurse. The Registered Nurse will function in the WCT 6 Psychiatry section within PSYCHIATRY/MENTAL HEALTH NURSING SERVICE-PCS

Duties
  • Demonstrates ability to function effectively in charge nurse, team leader or other leadership roles requiring application of problem solving skills at the unit or team level, and use team approaches to identify, analyze and resolve problems.
  • Assesses and evaluates patient status and prioritizes care based on patient acuity and identified needs.
  • Demonstrates leadership with groups in developing appropriate patient centered plan of care. Develops the initial nursing plan and updates the plan, serving as a resource person to less experienced staff, and acts as a leader in developing standards of care.
  • Includes patient/family/significant other/health care provider in establishing realistic, measurable goals related to health education and treatment plan and in planning care on a continuum; assists staff in the process of mutual goal setting.
  • Exemplifies thoroughness in the proper administration of medications and controlled substances and clarity in the documentation and reporting of clinical information.
