We have an exciting opportunity to join our Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgical Wards at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital -- and we'd love to welcome you to our team.
Our wards care for both trauma and elective orthopaedic patients, including those transferred from major trauma centres in South Wales. From 1st September, we have launched a brand‑new Trauma Unit, which will include a Trauma Assessment Unit (TAU) -- designed to enhance patient experience and reduce time spent in the Emergency Department. You'll have the chance to be part of this innovative service from the very beginning.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short‑listing candidates. This isn't fluency, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. The Health Board currently operate a number of different shift systems. The most common are a 12.5 hour shift, inclusive of either one 30 minute or two 30-minute unpaid breaks. These shift patterns are subject to review and the Health Board reserves the right to change working arrangements. CTM is a Health Board committed to meaningful consultation with staff and to making balanced decisions that consider all aspects of our service and workforce.
