Overview

There has never been a more exciting time to join the Jenny Lind Children’s Hospital team at the NNUH. We are part of a large children’s unit with a dedicated strategy and PRIDE values of People focused, Respect, Dedication, Integrity and Excellence. Our hospital provides inpatient, ambulatory, emergency, neonatal and outpatient care across a broad range of paediatric specialties.

We are recruiting an experienced paediatric registered nurse (Band 5) to join the team and contribute to high-quality, child/young person and family-centred care.

Responsibilities
  • Promote and implement practice conducive to high-quality child/young person and family-centred care.
  • Provide professional, clinical and managerial leadership on the ward/department.
  • Take charge of the Ward/Department in the absence of the Ward/Departmental Sister/Charge Nurse and provide support and guidance to all staff.
  • Participate in delivering a safe, compassionate healthcare service and model NNUH’s PRIDE values.
  • Maintain Continuous Professional Development in line with Trust policy and professional bodies.
  • Complete the mentorship preparation programme, act as a mentor and provide supervision to junior staff and other learners.
  • Support in career development and contribute to safe and effective team functioning.
Requirements
  • Paediatric registered nurse, Band 5 level (or equivalent) with motivation and experience in a general paediatric ward environment.
  • Ability to lead in the absence of senior staff and to mentor others.
  • Commitment to high-quality, safe and patient-centred care and alignment with PRIDE values.
