An exciting opportunity has arisen at Weston Dialysis Unit for a Registered Nurse, to join us on a full time basis!

  • You will have the responsibility to care for a group of patients each shift and partake in all aspects of haemodialysis patient care and oversee their blood results.
  • Strong sense of teamwork and excellent communication skills are essential; support will be given to achieve haemodialysis competencies if not already completed.
Location & Schedule

The unit has 15 haemodialysis stations and is open 6 days a week, Monday –Saturday, 06:30-19:00hrs per day. This role is based at Weston General Hospital; please ensure you can commute prior to applying.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organise and provide evidence‑based nursing care.
  • Carry out planned, direct patient care to a high standard without direct supervision, in accordance with established nursing procedures and policies.
  • Deliver health promotion education, support and advice as necessary, and refer to appropriate professionals or agencies.
  • Delegate and supervise work to other qualified staff, healthcare support workers and students in absence of senior staff.
  • Coordinate a shift regularly to develop leadership and management skills with support of senior colleagues.
  • Act as named nurse for a group of patients, monitoring renal treatment and care interventions from the multidisciplinary team.
  • Treat all patients with courtesy, respecting individual needs, and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, relatives, visitors and colleagues.
