A reputable NHS organization in Newport is hiring a Registered Nurse to manage patient care and collaborate with healthcare professionals. The role requires skills in venepuncture and teamwork, focusing on maxillofacial and day surgery. Competitive salary between £31,516 and £38,364 per annum with excellent development opportunities.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a 'can do' attitude.
The person will be responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care. Main objectives for the role are to contribute to the management of the ward/ theatre/ recovery/clinics/clinical area through acceptance of agreed additional responsibilities and to act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Professional Code of Conduct.
Maxillofacial, day surgery/theatre/recovery, clinic and wound care experience are desirable as well as additional nursing skills such as venepuncture and mentorship. Being able to work as part of the team with computer literacy. Shift pattern will be on Monday to Friday with no weekend or bank holidays (8 - 4 or 9-5) covering Royal Gwent Hospital and Nevil Hall sites. Expected areas to work are outpatient clinics, day ward, 1ststage recovery, dressings clinic and local anaesthetic theatre.
Assess patients nursing needs, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in order to ensure the delivery of effective patient care.
Ensure the principles set out in the Fundamentals of Care are incorporated into daily practice to ensure a high quality service for patients and clients.
Maintain patients nursing records to ensure information is accurate and up to date.
Ensure that patients and carers/relatives are involved in the planning and delivery of care.
Ensure patient needs are met by working collaboratively with other professionals and agencies, especially in relation to ongoing care needs.
Communication complex and sensitive information to patients/families, including patients with special needs/learning disabilities or other barriers to communication.
Carry out procedures in relation to care of patients eg., venepuncture, cannulation, removal of sutures.
Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
