Job description
Overview

The Acute Medical Unit (AMU) at The Grange University Hospital provides rapid, definitive assessment, investigation and treatment for patients admitted as an emergency via their GP or by ambulance who present with an acute medical complaint. It is a busy fast paced environment that offers the opportunity to work closely with the medical team and other professions. Safe and timely triage of patients is essential, and support will be offered to develop the assessment skills required to undertake this. We pride ourselves in having a high discharge to home rate and this is helped by our close relationship with our care at home colleagues. You will be required to facilitate the safe discharge of patients through robust discharge planning and working alongside members of the multi-disciplinary team to achieve this.
