Job description
The Team

The W.P. Holman Clinic, Launceston, provides comprehensive specialist inpatient and outpatient Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Clinical Haematology Services to the Northern Tasmanian community.

The W.P Holman Clinic also plays an active role in cancer education and research within Tasmania.

The Clinic is situated in the Launceston General Hospital complex and provides direct access to a range of medical, surgical and hospital services required to deliver quality, person-centred cancer care.

The Role
Key Responsibilities
  • Safely prepare and administer chemotherapy and related therapies.
  • Conduct patient assessments and monitor for treatment side effects.
  • Deliver education and emotional support to patients and families.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to safety protocols.

  • Competency in chemotherapy administration (or willingness to undertake training).
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Commitment to patient-centred care and ongoing professional development.

Details of appointment

Permanent, part time, day worker position, working up to 48 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as you can join the team. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$80,524 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
