Job description

Liverpool University Dental Hospital provides dental care across all specialties through undergraduate, postgraduate, and specialist services.

Applications are invited for the post of Registered Dental Nurse within the Dental Hospital. Applicants must be registered with the General Dental Council and hold a recognised dental nurse qualification. The successful candidate will be highly motivated with excellent clinical and communication skills.

The role involves providing high-quality nursing care to staff and students within the trust, working with minimal supervision, and using personal initiative.

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust includes Aintree University Hospital, Broadgreen Hospital, and Royal Liverpool University Hospital. It is part of the NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group, formed on 1 Nov 2024, aiming to improve patient care.

Key responsibilities include supporting undergraduate and postgraduate students during procedures, recording treatment and clerical work, preparing materials and instruments, maintaining infection control standards, assisting with emergencies, and supporting investigations like x-rays and blood tests. The role also involves triaging emergency patients, providing pre- and post-operative instructions, maintaining equipment, assisting with treatments and surgeries, communicating with other departments, managing stock, and covering for absent colleagues as needed.
