Job summary

A leading Social Care operator is seeking a Registered Manager for their new Children's Care Home in Redhill, Surrey. The role involves managing daily operations, ensuring high standards of care for children aged 9–15 with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Ideal candidates will have significant experience in childcare management and leadership qualifications, including a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare. Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ recent experience in a management/deputy management role within a children’s residential home.
  • At least 3 years’ experience working directly with children and young people with EBD and complex needs.
  • Demonstrated success in managing inspections and achieving positive Ofsted outcomes.

Our client is a leading Social Care operator. They currently have an exciting opportunity and are looking to recruit a Registered Manager for their new Children's Care Home, based in Redhill, Surrey.

Purpose of Role

The Registered Manager will be the Ofsted-registered leader for our clients Children's Care Home, responsible for the day-to-day running, management, and development of the service. The role involves ensuring high standards of care and support are provided to children aged 9–15 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, the Quality Standards, and relevant safeguarding legislation. The post-holder will create a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment that promotes positive outcomes, emotional stability, education, and life opportunities for children.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Essential: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Essential: Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Desirable: Relevant degree (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Childcare).
  • Desirable: Additional training in safeguarding, therapeutic approaches, or trauma-informed care.
Experience
  • Essential: Minimum 2 years’ recent experience in a management/deputy management role within a children’s residential home.
  • Essential: At least 3 years’ experience working directly with children and young people with EBD and complex needs.
  • Essential: Demonstrated success in managing inspections and achieving positive Ofsted outcomes.
  • Desirable: Experience of setting up or developing a new home.
  • Desirable: Experience in managing budgets and resources effectively.
