Registered Area Manager (England) Salary: £60,780 per annum; £750 Homeworking Allowance per annum; £1,500 Out of Hours Allowance per annum; Hours: 35 per week; Contract: Permanent; Location: Homebased with travel required around East Midlands (Derbyshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire & Peterborough).

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the smooth running of a staff team of Deputy Area Managers, Social Workers, Family Finders, Recruitment Managers & Officers, Consultants, Panel Members, Administration Team and Children’s and Young People’s Resource Workers.
  • Regulatory compliance including service monitoring, safeguarding of children and young people, and participation in the out‑of‑hours rota.
  • Deliver the Service Operational Plan, including management of budget and contracts, and act as a Panel Advisor.
  • Occasionally cover casework due to staff sickness or leave.
  • Encourage diversity and inclusion within all aspects of the role and support the provision of services across the East Midlands region.
Key Qualifications
  • Level 5 Management Qualification (or willingness to enrol within 6 months of appointment and complete within 3 years).
  • Minimum 3 years of post‑qualifying experience in fostering or other childcare settings.
  • 5 years post‑qualifying experience in fostering or in other childcare settings.
  • A proven track record in working with and on behalf of children, respecting and maintaining their individuality and promoting their positive development.
  • Experience of managing a diverse and experienced team, ideally remotely.
  • Experience of group work and/or delivery of training.
  • Up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant legislation including the Fostering National Minimum Standards and Fostering regulations.
  • Ability to prioritise, plan and self‑organise efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to use IT effectively, including participation in virtual meetings and webinars.

Additional Details

Enhanced DBS clearance is required for this role and will be processed by TACT on your behalf.

The Registered Area Manager will be located in the East Midlands area, and travel across the region will be required including face‑to‑face meetings at least once a month and on other occasions for training and team wellbeing events.
