Description

Hitachi Energy is seeking a results-driven Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to lead growth for our Power Conversion Solutions (PCS) business across the UK. This role is dedicated to enabling large-scale solar and battery energy storage projects by delivering world-class PCS and inverter solutions. The RSM will develop and manage relationships with utilities, Independent Power Producers (IPPs), Engineering, Procurement and Construction firms (EPCs), and developers to drive profitable business expansion for Hitachi Energy and HE PCS. Approximately 30–40% of the RSM’s time will be spent directly engaging with customers, prospects, and industry stakeholders at project sites, customer offices, and key conferences/trade shows throughout the UK.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Achieve assigned sales targets and revenue objectives for PCS within the UK. Identify, qualify, and close opportunities (covering the full sales cycle) across utility-scale PV and BESS projects.

  • Develop and execute a regional go-to-market strategy in alignment with the PCS global business unit to build Hitachi Energy’s PCS project and portfolio pipeline.

  • Establish and maintain robust customer relationships with utilities, IPPs, EPCs, and developers (account management).

  • Drive disciplined pipeline management, including forecasting, cadence calls, and regular account reviews.

  • Map key market players and decision-makers, ensuring comprehensive coverage of top regional accounts.

  • Collaborate with PCS product and engineering teams to define solution fit, influence the product roadmap, and identify gaps or opportunities specific to the UK market.

  • Partner with EPCs and system integrators to support bid processes, proposals, and technical evaluations for mutual customers.

  • Represent Hitachi Energy at major conferences, trade shows, and industry forums in the UK and Western Europe; support speaking opportunities and thought leadership initiatives.

  • Maintain a consultative, value-based sales approach, positioning Hitachi Energy PCS as a premium, innovative, and reliable solution provider.

Background:

  • Proactive sales professional with 5 years of technical sales or business development experience in power electronics, inverters, PCS, or related utility-scale technologies.

  • Proven track record of selling into utilities and IPPs at multi-million pound and euro levels within the UK and Western European markets.

  • Strong network among EPCs and developers active in the utility-scale PV and storage sectors across the region.

  • You are a collaborative team player with demonstrated success working in a global, matrixed organization with cross-functional collaboration (sales, product, engineering, service).

  • Passionate and inquisitive, with a proven ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles characterized by long timelines and high technical content.

  • You are an energy sector specialist with deep experience in power systems, grid interconnection, or large-scale inverter/PCS technologies.

  • Hold at least a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Power Systems, or a related field (preferred); an MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

  • You possess excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, and are comfortable engaging with all types of customers, from operational teams to executive boardrooms.
