Overview

We\'re representing a leading European manufacturer specializing in state-of-the-art packaging machinery for the food industry. They are known for their expertise in filling and sealing glass, metal, and plastic containers with twist-off and pre-threaded caps—ideal for dense, semi-dense, and pasty products such as sauces, preserves, and jams.

The group behind this business also includes multiple specialist divisions designing and building capping systems, feeding/orientation systems, cosmetic/pharma filling lines, and machinery for producing and assembling caps and closures. Their operations span across multiple production sites in Italy with an extensive global reach through subsidiaries.

Role Objectives

Your primary mission will be to drive business growth throughout the UK & Ireland by promoting a premium range of food-sector packaging machinery. You\'ll be responsible for capturing new opportunities while nurturing existing relationships and representing the machinery solutions at trade shows and events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead full sales cycle: from generating leads to sealing deals.
  • Customer portfolio management: build, maintain, and grow relationships through proactive engagement (visits, calls, etc.).
  • New business development: identify and convert opportunities within the food packaging sector across the UK & Ireland.
  • Event representation: attend trade fairs and industry events to expand network and visibility.
  • Technical collaboration: work closely with technical teams to align solutions with client needs.
  • CRM usage: accurately log activities, maintain pipeline, and track performance metrics.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • At least 3 years\' sales experience, ideally within food packaging or processing machinery.
  • Degree-level education in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation abilities, with a strong results orientation.
  • Self-driven, independent, and entrepreneurial approach.
  • Native English speaker; Italian language skills are a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and CRM software.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel frequently (50%+ across the UK, Ireland—and occasionally to Italy).
Location & Travel Requirements

Based in England with comprehensive travel responsibilities across the UK and Ireland. Occasional trips to Italy for training or cross-functional collaboration may be required.
