  • Regularly check for potential hazards within gyms.

Job description
Regional Maintenance Technician – South
Role Purpose

To ensure our members have an exceptional experience within our gyms, we pride ourselves on high standards of maintenance.

As a Maintenance Operative, you will undertake repairs and maintenance across our portfolio of gyms based across the South of England, ensuring high quality workmanship and compliance.

Sites to cover include but not limited to: Southampton East, Swindon, Harlow, Farnborough, Plymouth, Uxbridge.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out general repairs across all our clubs based across North East & Humberside
  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance on site, including but not limited to proactive and reactive work
  • Carry out minor plumbing including replacing taps, unblocking sinks and drains etc.
  • Deal with repairs where necessary as instructed by facilities department RVA. the
  • Deal with minor electrical repairs and fixings
  • General redecorating works
  • General fault finding
  • Regularly check internal & external areas of the gyms that may pose potential hazards and rectify
Desirable skills and experience
  • Multi‑skilled across Plumbing (copper and PVC), XO carpentry and minor electrical works
  • Competent at basic building repairs and maintenance
  • Knowledge of ventilation systems
  • Competent at redecoration and refurbishment works
  • Ability to complete small plastering / wall damage works
  • Ability to use small industrial, electrical, and mechanical equipment
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures and precautions
  • Demonstrate literacy, numeracy, and IT skills sufficient to use our Mainteno reporting system to effectively understand the daily workload
  • Physically fit as the role will require lifting, bending, stretching and working at heights

Although the role is predominantly Monday‑to‑Friday, the nature of the leisure industry requires you to be on call outside of these hours, including weekends, to assist with any emergencies that may arise.

Due to the widespread location of gyms in the South, occasional overnight stay may be required.
