Job summary

Qualifications

  • Experience working within domestic abuse, VAWDASV or similar support services.
  • Experience supervising or leading staff.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice.
  • Full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle and business insurance (essential).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and line-manage refuge staff, volunteers and students.
  • Support delivery of trauma-informed, person-centred services.
  • Carry a small caseload of women and families.
  • Oversee staff rotas, Health & Safety, housekeeping and occupancy.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to audits and reports.
  • Identify training needs and support team development.
  • Promote service-user voice and participation.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies and internal services.

Torfaen (Workplace-based)

£26,520 rising to £27,030 after probation

35 hours per week, Monday-Friday (flexible shifts)

We are recruiting a Refuge Team Leader to support the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed refuge services for women and children affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence.

This is a key leadership role, supporting the Refuge Support Service Coordinator to manage day-to-day operations, lead and support staff, and ensure services are safe, responsive and person-led.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and line-manage refuge staff, volunteers and students

Working Pattern

35 hours per week, Monday-Friday
