Overview

Recycling Plant Operative / Telehandler and Forklift Truck Operator with proficiency in bulk handling techniques, FLT driving, excellent time-management skills and attention to detail is required for a recycling facility based in Runcorn, Cheshire, North West England.

Salary: £12.25 per hour + £2.50 p/h shift allowance (after probation)

Location: Runcorn, Cheshire, North West England (WA7)

Job type: Full-Time, Permanent (Shift work after 3 month probation period)

Working hours: Must have flexibility with work schedules and ability to work all shift patterns to support production demands and operational requirements

Key requirements: You must have a Forklift (FLT) and Telehandler License. Holding a JCB handling license is desirable, but not essential.

Duties
  • Responsible for a range of material handling tasks, including loading and unloading materials using a Fork Lift Truck (FLT).
  • Perform bulk handling tasks using a JCB, such as bucket work and operation of screeners/shredders, to ensure efficient processing of recycled materials.
  • Operate machinery to oversee the recycling process, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining high-quality output.
  • Maintain general housekeeping and ensure a safe working environment, adhering strictly to all Environmental, Health, and Safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Prioritising and promoting safety in all aspects of work.
  • Operate the site and production processes safely and efficiently, contributing to sustainability and responsible waste management.
  • Assist with other duties as needed, collaborating with colleagues to achieve production targets and maintain a high standard of work.
Candidate requirements
  • Must have Fork Lift and Telehandler License. Holding a JCB handling license is desirable but not essential.
  • Proficient in bulk handling techniques, with previous experience in a manufacturing or recycling environment preferred.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects within set timeframes while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to interact effectively and professionally with colleagues with minimal supervision.
