Job description

We have an exciting new opportunity for a receptionist tojoin the team based at Tiptree Medical Centre on a part-time basis for 20 hours per week.

Main duties of the job
  • Booking appointments.
  • Answering queries from patients and outside agencies and/or signposting to appropriate members of staff.
  • Liaising with patients using various types of communication methods.

You will also need to have flexibility to cover other shifts.

We have an excellent nursing team comprising 4 Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs), 1 Paramedic, 4 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs, 2 Clinical Pharmacists and 1 Pharmacy Technician. We are an award-winning, semi-rural practice of approximately 12,000 patients in Tiptree, North-East Essex, the jam-making capital of the universe. We are in an ideal location close to Englands oldest town, Colchester, with nearby rail links direct to London and easy access to the east coast. We pride ourselves on being relaxed, with family-friendly and flexible working patterns. We also work as a collaborative Primary Care Network alongside Mersea Island Medical Practice and Rowhedge Medical Centre.

Person Specification
Experience
  • Experience of working and providing customer services.
  • Ideally you will have reception experience, and it would be beneficial if you have experience working within primary care, however this is not essential.
  • Strong IT skills and be able to use computer-based systems.
  • Experience of SystmOne would be desirable, however full training will be given to a suitable candidate.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and orally.
  • Friendly and positive approach towards patients and other visitors either in person or over the telephone.
Qualifications
  • Good standard of education including Maths and English.
