Job description

Every day, our teams help people in businesses and communities to do what is right and achieve their goals. In Real Estate Tax, we pride ourselves on helping transform our clients' real estate into greater assets. We provide a diverse range of organisations with business and financial advice to enable this, empowering clients to make significant decisions about the future and unlock sustainable growth. With a focus on quality and integrity, we help businesses, communities, and our people to flourish.

We advise real estate funds, global institutional investors, REITs, private investors, and the public sector on investment into UK and pan-European real estate, offering tax structuring, compliance, and due diligence advice. Our work spans all real estate sectors, including commercial, office, student housing, industrial logistics, retail, and hotels. We support flexible working arrangements, including reduced hours and job shares, to help our team balance work and life.

Role Overview

As an Associate Director in our Real Estate Tax team, you will:

  1. Be part of a high-performing team with substantial sector experience, working with high-profile clients on challenging projects.
  2. Develop and mentor junior team members, understanding their career aspirations.
  3. Engage with major clients on complex, multi-jurisdictional transactions across real estate and infrastructure, including deals ranging from £60m to over £1bn. There are significant opportunities for rapid promotion due to our growing client base.
  4. Lead your own work, taking initiative and working closely with Partners and Directors to manage client relationships, deliver projects, and collaborate within the tax teams. You will be supported by a capable team of tax professionals.
  5. Possess ACA/ACCA/CTA qualifications or equivalent, with UK corporate tax experience, preferably within real estate.
  6. Monitor and develop junior team members’ work and careers.

Preferred additional skills include tax structuring, international tax advice, business development, tax compliance, and setting up property funds like UK REITs. Experience in the UK real estate market and demonstrated business development skills are advantageous.
