Job summary

A regional healthcare provider in Scotland seeks a motivated Radiology Clerical Officer to provide vital clerical support. The position requires excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, and familiarity with Radiology systems will be provided. Radiology Clerical Officer

Band 2 £25,694 - £27,900 per annum

Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,406 per annum

37 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Radiology department in the Western Isles Hospital. We are looking for a highly motivated, hard working and enthusiastic candidate to provide clerical, administration and secretarial support to the Radiology service.

The Radiology service provides high quality diagnostic imaging to the population of the Western Isles, using a range of equipment and highly skilled staff.

Training for Radiology specific systems will be provided: Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving Communications System (PACS).

It is also essential that the candidate has awareness of radiation protection.

The postholder will schedule appointments of outpatients and inpatients, enter data into RIS, email/distribute reports to referrers, amend appointments, check blood results, undertake audits, answer telephone calls and answer queries, check and deal with emails regurlarly; this list of duties is not exhaustive.

The postholder will be support the implementation of the radiology department Access Policy, continually assessing against:

  • Key Performance Indicators
  • Efficient capacity utilisation of service
  • Waiting list management.

It is essential that candidates are computer literate, posess excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills. Candidates should be self-motivated, able to work under pressure and prioritise workload.
