Radiographer

The closing date is 06 January 2026

We are recruiting for a Radiographer who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

We have an exciting opportunity for a general radiographer; your role will include plain film, theatre and mobile work, and CT. You will be based at the Lister Hospital but will be expected to participate as required at the Trust's two other hospital sites in Welwyn Garden City and Hertford.

We pride ourselves on being a friendly, energetic department. There is a strong culture of teamwork and staff development, with CPD being actively encouraged and supported.

The department operates a 7 day shift pattern extended working day so a flexible approach to work patterns is essential.

Below is what members of the team had to say about the Radiology department:

  • A lovely place to work with a great team spirit
  • A very caring and very diverse and multicultural department who will make anyone who starts to work here feel very welcome
  • We all work together as a team and help each other as much as we can

At the heart of everything we do are our core values: Include, Respect, and Improve. We encourage you to embrace these values throughout the recruitment process and in your role with us.

Main duties of the job

The department has CR/DR systems, integrated with Carestream PACS and encompass a comprehensive range of equipment including DR general and dental rooms, flat plate interventional room, CT, MRI, Breast Imaging, DXA Scanning, Spect CT scanner and a wide range of Ultrasound services.

The Trust currently has 5 CT scanners and 3 MRI scanners (3T and a new 1.5T). There is a dedicated recovery area for interventional cases in Radiology.

You will rotate within the main departments, theatres and CT departments. CT and cannulation training will be provided.

Flexibility, enthusiasm and a professional attitude to your role are essential.

Students qualifying in June are encouraged to apply. We offer the opportunity to start as a band 4 while awaiting your HCPC registration.
