Overview

We are currently recruiting for Repair & Maintenance (R&M) Technicians who have Street Works (NRSWA)/SSSTS qualification and a full UK driver’s licence. These roles are with Thames Water on permanent contracts.

What you’ll be doing as a Repair & Maintenance Technician

You will be responsible for repair and maintenance across our North London network, with occasional travel to South London when required. You will be the Leader of a two-person R&M Team, ensuring that all work undertaken is completed to the correct safety and quality standards.

Base location: Kentish Town - NW1 5TN.

Working pattern: 45 hours a week on a shift pattern, including a standby rota for which you will receive additional payment.

What should you bring to the role?

The must-haves (essential criteria) for this opportunity include:

  • You will have experience or training in repair and maintenance in the water industry.
  • You should be able to meet the physical demands of the role with the ability to work outdoors in all weathers.
  • Use your initiative and problem-solve where repairs are required.
  • Have strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical messages simply.
  • Have a can-do, positive attitude, remaining open to new ideas and change.
  • Be self-motivated and confident in completing tasks to the best of your ability.

Additional skills and experiences would be great to have/bring:

  • Be competent in using computers and other IT equipment.
  • Advantageous if you have an EUSR Water Hygiene card, Service Avoidance L2 and/or a First Aid qualification.
