Job summary

A leading civil engineering contractor in the UK is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their AMP8 delivery team. This role involves managing commercial activities across various water and wastewater projects. The ideal candidate will possess a RICS or CICES-accredited degree, with strong commercial acumen and experience in contract management. Responsibilities include preparing valuations, leading cost control, and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements. Qualifications

• At least three years of relevant experience in civil engineering or construction.
• Experience in setting up and/or operating office management systems, including filing and document control processes.
• Demonstrated ability to draft contractual correspondence and prepare payment certificates.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the efficient management of commercial notices and correspondence.
• Prepare or assess applications, valuations, and cost/value reconciliations.
• Lead on cost control and forecasting.

Skills

Strong financial and commercial acumen

Strong negotiation and team-working skills

Solid understanding of legal, contractual, and construction principles

Education

RICS or CICES-accredited degree

Currently enrolled on an accredited part-time postgraduate degree
