Job description

Our client is a leading specialist contractor operating across multiple sectors within the construction industry. We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic Commercial and QS team, supporting fire protection projects. While experience in passive fire is desirable, it is not essential as the focus is on strong QS principles, commercial acumen, and a proactive approach to growth and development.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee two to three projects at any one time
• Work across various contract types, including PO frameworks, NEC, and JCT
• Manage cost plans, valuations, and variations.
• Collaborate with a wider commercial/QS team for best practice and shared support
• Lead by example and encourage knowledge‑sharing to strengthen team performance

Requirements

• Minimum of three to five years' experience in Quantity Surveying or similar commercial role
• Strong understanding of QS principles and contract management
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with construction management software (training provided)
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Desire to move into leadership/management roles to mentor and develop junior team members
• Desired: Experience in fire protection or related sectors
