Job description

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager (Working for a Drylining Subcontractor) to join our small, busy team based in Kings Hill, Kent. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all commercial aspects of drylining packages on residential and commercial projects from tender stage through to final account.

This role would ideally suit someone with a background in drylining, having previously worked within a contracting business, or within the construction or housing sectors.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Oversee estimators
  • Review tender documents prior to submission
  • Attend client meetings when required
  • Manage project budgets and monitor financial performance, including weekly cash flow
  • Liaise with contact managers to assess site progress and variations
  • Manage valuations, variations, payments, retentions, and final accounts
  • Subcontractor payments
  • Forecast and manage project cash flow and report variances
  • Manage schedule of standard prices with key suppliers aligned to wider Group agreements
  • Manage yearly memberships of SSIP’s currently SMAS & CQMS, obtaining all evidence required to support.
