Quantity Surveyor

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing organisation, working across diverse construction projects in London and the wider UK, delivering pre- and post-contract cost management and commercial advice.

Job Overview

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor at an exciting stage of growth for the organisation. This role offers exposure to a varied workload across multiple sectors, supporting an expanding client base.

As a Quantity Surveyor you will be involved in both pre- and post-contract delivery, providing robust commercial advice and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and successfully. You will work closely with clients, consultants and internal teams.

Duties
  • Pre-Contract Cost Management: Preparing cost plans, estimates and procurement advice.
  • Post-Contract Administration: Managing valuations, variations, final accounts and reporting.
  • Contract Administration: Administering construction contracts and managing change control.
  • Client Liaison: Acting as a key point of contact and providing clear commercial advice.
  • Risk Management: Identifying, managing and advising on project risks and opportunities.
  • Project Delivery: Supporting successful delivery across multiple projects and sectors.
  • Team Collaboration: Working with internal, design and construction teams.
  • Mentoring Support: Assisting with the development of junior team members.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of quantity surveying across pre- and post-construction phases.
  • Previous experience of construction contract administration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Commitment, enthusiasm and a proactive work ethic.
  • Previous work experience in the UK with willingness to travel nationally.
Desirable
  • Experience delivering projects under different procurement routes.
  • Client-facing experience providing commercial and strategic advice.
  • Ability to manage day-to-day delivery and successfully manage change.
  • Experience contributing to value management and value engineering.
