This role involves managing commercial requirements across various projects, preparing valuations, and ensuring client satisfaction. Ideal candidates will have at least 3 years' experience, strong knowledge of JCT contracts, and excellent communication skills.

Job Description

Our client, a reputable subcontractor specialising in Joinery, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in their office in Essex. This is a great opportunity for someone with sector knowledge in joinery, drylining, flooring or ceilings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the commercial and contractual requirements across multiple joinery packages
  • Prepare and submit interim valuations and final accounts
  • Assess subcontractor accounts, variations, and payments
  • Monitor costs against budget and report commercial performance
  • Attend site meetings and liaise with clients, project managers, and site teams
  • Support the tendering and pre-construction process when required

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, coming from a subcontractor’s environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of JCT contracts.
  • Excellent numeracy, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant QS software.
  • Relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
  • Based in office or on site
  • Qualification is Quantity Surveying is an advantage.

Package:

  • Salary £60k.
  • Private Health Care after 12 months service
