Qualifications

  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civils, utilities, energy, or infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts.
  • Ability to manage commercial duties across live projects.
  • Confident communicator with good client-facing skills.
  • Strong analytical, forecasting, and reporting ability.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Commercial management of major SPEN projects (£1m-£20m+).
  • Assist with contract administration under NEC3 / NEC4.
  • Maintain cost control, forecasting, CVRs, and monthly reporting.
  • Prepare and negotiate subcontract packages and variations.
  • Manage compensation events, risk, and change control.
  • Work closely with site teams and engage with SPEN project stakeholders.
  • Support valuations, final accounts, and project financial governance.

We're recruiting for a leading contractor delivering major SP Energy Networks (SPEN) projects across the Central Belt. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Central Belt Scotland. This role offers hybrid working, long‑term security, and the chance to work on large, complex energy and infrastructure projects.

Role Responsibilities
  • Commercial management of major SPEN projects (£1m-£20m+).
  • Assist with contract administration under NEC3 / NEC4.
  • Maintain cost control, forecasting, CVRs, and monthly reporting.
  • Prepare and negotiate subcontract packages and variations.
  • Manage compensation events, risk, and change control.
