Job summary

A reputable construction company is seeking a Freelance Quantity Surveyor for a refurbishment project in East Sussex. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day commercial activities, ensuring strong relationships with suppliers and site teams. Key responsibilities include contract management, preparation of interim accounts, and commercial reporting. This position requires a high level of commercial awareness and contract knowledge to manage a £10M project effectively.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
• Ability to manage commercial activities and contractual correspondence.
• Strong relationship-building skills with site teams and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Develop effective working relationships with the site team and suppliers.
• Prepare interim accounts and manage day-to-day commercial activities.
• Conduct sub–contract valuations and variations, along with commercial reporting.

This position for a freelance Quantity Surveyor will take responsibility for the day to day commercial activity on a 10M refurbishment project in East Sussex.

The contract is traditional JCT. You will be able to demonstrate a high degree of commercial knowledge and understanding of contractual and commercial processes. Working closely with a Snr QS

Key Duties & responsibilities for this role include:

To develop close and effective working relationships with the site team and all suppliers.
To be commercially agile and provide commercial information and solutions
Preparation of interim accounts
Manage day to day commercial and contract activities
Sub–contract valuations and variations
Contractual correspondence
Commercial reporting and cost forecasting
